Full Circle: Dr. Doroshenko and Team Give Back Through Mission of Mercy

Our team had the incredible opportunity to volunteer at the Florida Mission of Mercy (FLAMOM) in Jacksonville, a statewide charitable dental clinic dedicated to providing free dental care to underserved and uninsured patients across Florida. This year’s event took place May 16–17, 2026.

This year marked our team’s fourth year participating in Mission of Mercy, and it continues to be one of the most meaningful ways we can give back to the community.

Led by Dr. Doroshenko, our team joined volunteers from around the state to help restore smiles, relieve pain, and provide compassionate care to patients who otherwise may not have access to treatment.

For Dr. Doroshenko, participating in Mission of Mercy is deeply personal.

“It was important for me to bring it full-circle and be able to help people,” she shared. “When my family first moved to the United States from Russia, we did not have much money. A dentist did free dental work for my father, and that stayed with me all these years. Now, as an oral surgeon, being able to give back in the same way, alongside my team, means so much to me.”

Joining Dr. Doroshenko were assistants Leysha, Madison, and Alina, who helped care for patients and supported the mission’s efforts to provide life-changing dental treatment.

Leysha reflected on the experience, saying: “It feels good to be there to help these patients overcome their anxiety and regain their oral health. It also meant a lot to simply be there to comfort patients and help them feel more at ease during their treatment.”

The Florida Mission of Mercy is the largest charitable dental clinic in the state, providing free care including extractions, fillings, cleanings, dentures, oral cancer screenings, and more to thousands of Floridians in need. Since its inception in 2014, FLA-MOM has provided more than $19 million in donated dental services to over 17,000 patients with the help of thousands of volunteers.

Experiences like this remind us why giving back matters. Dental care is not just about teeth. It is about confidence, dignity, health, and quality of life. We are incredibly proud of our team for dedicating their time, compassion, and skills to serving our community.

Thank you to the Florida Dental Association Foundation and everyone who helped make this mission possible. We are honored to have been a part of it and look forward to continuing to serve those in need.
